We are just 20NM from Ascension island. It is there, ahead of us, sticking out from the surface.
It is a perfect sailing day with 12 knots from behind, sun is out, the spinnaker is up and the sea is reasonably flat. The weather is now much warmer. The duvets are packed in the lockers and small tops and swimming costumes are out. We are now having our showers on the deck, thinking we have the most beautiful view from our bathroom.
The sail from St Helene to Ascension has gone well with no major problem. We are planning to stay a couple of days and a friend of a friend will give us a tour of Ascension. We are really hoping to see sea turtles!
Our current position is 8deg 04,88'S and 14deg 3,07'W.
